At the risk of being called a 'luvvie', I want to express my admiration of all those actors and behind-the-scenes people involved with NUDE WITH VIOLIN. With a cast of 14 and support team of 10 I can't mention everyone individually. I do want to express my appreciation, though, for the very efficient back-stage and front-of-house people, the excellent publicity, and the extremely talented actors, - I was lucky to assemble such a group which was such a pleasure to work with.
Another piece of luck, of course, was finding Andel Clarke to play our gentleman from Jamaica. Approaches to various groups failed to locate anyone for this role until one night after rehearsals, I went into the pub and found Barbara M-J chatting up Andel. We couldn't believe our luck, particularly as he was so keen. He was seconded here by MAFF1 - just about the only good thing to come out of the foot and mouth epidemic.
Thanks to all those members who lent us various items for props and wardrobe, all of which contributed to the elegant appearance of the excellent set.
£2,815 was taken in ticket sales and £343 for programmes and coffee, - well done ROADIESThe recent fall in audience figures have given cause for concern that we are losing our audiences but "Nude" proved that the correct choice of play, supported by good advertising will bring them back and a figure of over 97% attendance was attained.
